Nurturing independence in North Balgowlah

Raising
Confident,
Capable Children,
From the very Start

A Montessori preschool for children aged 2 to 6, where the early years build the independence, curiosity and confidence that last a lifetime.

The Farmhouse difference

The outcomes of a
new learning life.

Every child arrives different, and that is a good thing. We follow the child, because there is no one size fits all in the early years.

Confidence

Children do things for themselves here, from pouring their own drink to resolving a disagreement. Small independence, built daily, becomes real self belief.

Independence

Practical life skills sit at the heart of the day. Children learn to dress themselves, care for their space and look after each other, long before anyone asks them to.

Ready for what comes next

Children leave able to concentrate, ask good questions and keep going when something is hard. That matters more at big school than knowing the alphabet early.

Prepared environment

Our Philosophy is designed for your individual child.

Children here are not moved from activity to activity on a timetable. The room is set up so they can choose real work that interests them, with a guide nearby to step in when they are ready for more.

Ages mix on purpose. Younger children learn by watching older ones. Older children learn by helping. It builds patience, care and friendships that cross age groups.

The garden

Room to move, every day.

[Placeholder, needs input on what the Balgowlah outdoor space actually offers. Suggested shape: children outside every day, in all weather, with real gardening, digging, climbing and quiet corners. Whatever is true here should be specific, because outdoor time is a top three question for preschool parents.]

The path forward

A preschool that does not end at school age.

The heritage buildings of the primary campus at North Head Sanctuary, seen through the trees

Most preschools say goodbye when your child turns four. Ours does not have to.

Children who start with us can continue right through to Year 6 at our Primary campus in North Head Sanctuary, with the same philosophy, the same community and no anxious search for a school in between.

You are welcome to choose only the preschool years. But the option to keep going is there, and families tell us it takes a lot of pressure off.
